The EMPOWER TEN Program is a one-year flagship initiative implemented by Agriedo Hub and funded by the Segal Family Foundation. The program is designed to enhance youth participation in Tanzania’s agricultural value chain through a structured and customized capacity-building approach.
Program Focus
EMPOWER TEN strengthens youth-led agribusinesses by providing:
• Structured business and technical training
• Tailored one-on-one mentorship
• Strategic linkages to finance and markets
• Seed funding and start-up support tailored to individual business needs
The value of start-up kits provided under the program depends on the specific needs and growth stage of each youth enterprise, ensuring targeted and practical support.
Program Impact
To date, the program has achieved the following:
• 62 youth trained in agribusiness and entrepreneurship
• 52 youth received structured mentorship
• 30 youth accessed finance and strategic market linkages
• 59% female participation, promoting strong gender inclusion
