The Youth in Agribusiness Acceleration Program (YAAP), implemented by Agriedo Hub with support from USAID under the Feed the Future Tanzania Imarisha Sekta Binafsi Project, is transforming youth participation in agriculture across the Iringa Region.
Running from January 2024 to January 2025, YAAP empowers young people aged 15–35 with the skills, resources, mentorship, and market connections needed to build profitable and sustainable agribusinesses.
Program Highlights
• 706 youth engaged across crop production, livestock, food processing, and agri-tech
• 400+ youth trained in business development and financial literacy
• 150 youth-led enterprises formalized and strengthened in governance and compliance
• TZS 253 million accessed through loans and equipment financing
• 100 start-up kits distributed (valued at TZS 1 million each)
• 30 enterprises showcased at national exhibitions, expanding market reach
• 48.7% female participation, promoting gender equity
• TZS 840 million in annual sales reported by supported businesses
Sustainable Impact
YAAP has strengthened business capacity, improved access to finance, and enhanced market visibility for youth-led enterprises. In addition, Agriedo Hub reinforced its institutional systems, ensuring continued delivery of high-quality incubation, mentorship, and youth-centered support.
Through ongoing mentorship, expanded financial partnerships, and policy advocacy, Agriedo Hub remains committed to building an inclusive, innovative, and resilient youth-led agribusiness ecosystem in Tanzania
